What’s the best placement of a fan in a room during the summer?
My dad always told me to put the fan in the doorway to cool the entire room when I was younger. My room was on the 2nd floor, and we had an attic fan that we used at night. I now live in a one-story home with central air. Where should the fan be in order to keep the room at its coolest?
We have (and use) a ceiling fan, but we want to use another fan to help cut down on our AC usage (and bill). Thanks for the info. 
With central air, you don’t need a fan…however, if you are like our family, you’ve probably have gotten used to the noise. The wind generated by the fan drops the air temperature on your skin by 8 degrees. If the AC is set for 78 at night, turning the fan to face towards your bed will make the temperature feel like it’s 70.
